Copycat Recipe
We love when newspapers print restaurant copycat recipes. This recipe, from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, has become a favorite of ours – Split Pea, Potato and Barley Soup from Sweet Tomatoes. It is our newest "comfort" soup. Make a big batch – it freezes beautifully. |

We Accepted the Challenge!
Ami Magazine invited KosherEye, along with five other cooks, to participate in a "Secret Ingredient" Cooking Challenge. Included in the group were cookbook authors, food columnists, and leading kosher bloggers. The challenge? To create a recipe in a little over one week that included the "secret ingredient" — Smokey Flavored Baked Bits made by The Quality Choice, a division of Baker’s Choice. The recipes appeared in Whisk, the food section of Ami Living Magazine and we are delighted to share our creation, Smokey Mini Corn Muffins, which was inspired by our Southern heritage.

Mushroom Risotto by Chef David Kolotkin Prime Hospitality Group
What a memorable feast we had at the pre–Kosherfest Social Media Dinner, which was held at the fabulous Solo restaurant in NY. We had to have it, and Chef David Kolotkin graciously shared his recipe for Mushroom Risotto with KosherEye. We are delighted to share it with our readers, and our fellow bloggers. Just thinking of this dish, which was served as an appetizer, makes us hungry! It can also work well as a main course. Let us know if you try it. We certainly are! |
