Whenever we are in Jerusalem we stop by this art gallery to browse its spectacular collections. The artist, Ben Avram, was born in Bombay in 1941 and immigrated to Israel in 1956. He set up his first studio in Jerusalem's Meah She'arim. The influence of the surrounding observant Orthodox community, together with Ben Avram's more secular approach, inspired him to create amazing paintings full of Jewish mysticism and symbolism, yet colorful and joyful. Ben Avram's paintings are treasured in collections worldwide. Currently he lives in Jerusalem and has chosen the Blue and White Art Gallery as his sole Judaica distributor.
